OK, so it’s not really so much a war as another data point in a little a science project involving my kids. I wanted a clever title, and that was the best I could come up with.

Hey, if you have a better suggestion, by all means share it. You try being clever using only the spare mental computing power left over after working on a PhD and parenting. ;P
Anyhow…
When Alex was not quite five months old, I noticed that he had two hair whorls instead of the usual one. The jury’s still out on handedness, but at almost 23 months, I suspect that indicates at least partial ambidexterity.
As the photo below indicates, Joel has a single counter-clockwise whorl. Looks like Mommy might have a second non-righty kid to be excited about (She’s a lefty.).
