I’m exhausted, and so is my wife. We’re sleeping in two-hour chunks. If we had a newborn in the house, I wouldn’t be surprised, but we don’t. Our younger son is 5.5mo. What the heck?
Almost like clockwork, Joel wakes up and cries every two hours. From 10PM to 6AM, that’s four wake-ups a night. My wife and I take turns patting him on the back or butt and turning on the noise machine’s ocean wave setting. He usually falls back to sleep in a couple minutes, but by then the damage is already done. Our sleep has been interrupted. Again.
Any suggestions for getting him to sleep through the night would be greatly appreciazzzzzzzzzzzz…

Are you opposed to the “Cry it out” method?
I only ask because it worked wonders on my kids. My daughter has deeper sleep issues, but my son sleeps like a champ (knock wood). His only downfall is being an extremely light sleeper.
Worth checking it out if you think you’re able to handle the tears for a few nights. This is the book we read. http://www.amazon.com/Healthy-Sleep-Habits-Happy-Child/dp/0449004023
Good luck. Next to illness, sleeping is the hardest parental nut to crack and handle.
We tried. The kid is relentless. Also, we can only stand to hear him scream so long. We’re talking about 2AM, here. 😉
